Job Description

We’re looking for a Creative Director to help lead the creative charge

About KPS3
KPS3 is a marketing and communications agency that values smart work, open collaboration, and ideas that make a difference. We work hard, but also know when to touch grass.

Founded in 1991, KPS3 has grown into a 44-person crew based in Reno, NV. We’ve been named a “Best Place to Work” finalist for nine years running–the award we’re most proud to put on our shelf.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Creative Director to help lead the creative charge on one of our internal teams at KPS3. In this role, you’ll lead concepting and execution across brand, campaign, digital, and more. There will be an emphasis on being a solid strategic partner, both internally and externally. You’ll mentor and manage creative team members, collaborate closely with division leadership, and bring inspired work to our clients. Local candidates are preferred.

Did we mention it’s multi-disciplinary? You can expect to tackle projects that not only span creative skillsets but also a variety of clients and other KPS3 divisions. You can expect a typical week to dabble in activation ideas with our public relations team, guiding a new B2B SaaS brand, participating in a discovery meeting for a healthcare client, or working with content creators on how to translate a concept into a social-driven campaign powerhouse.

This is a management position, but it’s also a roll-up-your-sleeves one. We’re a nimble team, and the right fit will be someone who can think big, remain agile, and execute thoughtfully.

Skills We’re Looking For:

  • Ability to set a creative vision and bring others along with it
  • Work across creative disciplines: brand, campaign, and web/digital
  • Collaborate across divisions: tech, public relations, content
  • Give clear direction to designers, copywriters, and other creators
  • Collaboration with clients to understand their goals
  • Contribute to strategy and translate that into smart, impactful creative work
  • Lead client-facing presentations
  • Offer strong conceptual thinking, compelling storytelling, and a strong design eye
  • Lead by example and help build the quality of work by designing and writing when necessary
  • Stay organized, keep things moving, and know when to call in reinforcements
  • Manage remote teammates
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors

You should also be excited about:

  • Strengthening a tight-knit team and mentoring senior designers and writers
  • Helping our creative division stay proactive
  • Championing the value of big ideas (even in small scopes)
  • Exploring AI and other tools to accelerate creativity

We’ll be honest: KPS3 moves fast. Our ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, communicative, and agile environment—and help others do the same.

What to Expect:

When you provide your application, we also require that you include a portfolio of work. If your application and style feel like a good match, you’ll be invited to participate in our interview process:

  • Initial interview and chemistry check
  • 2–3 rounds of conversations with folks from leadership and the creative team
  • A compensated test project (because your time and talent matter)

We’re just as invested in finding the right fit for you as we are for us. So bring your questions, your work, and your quirks. We’ll bring ours, too.

Perks, notes, and other company stuff

  • We pay 100% medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums for you.
  • Can’t forget about life insurance—we cover that, too.
  • 401k match. Booyah.
  • We give an annual lifestyle benefit card that you get to spend on whatever helps you have fun/relax.
  • You get loads of time off (20 days to start, not including holidays).
  • We don't work on old computers or have old software.
  • Flexibility: We ask a lot from everyone here, so it's fair to ask us for some back.
  • If you want to learn, go to a conference, or get certified, we encourage and pay for it.
  • We give longevity bonuses at one, three, and five years.
  • Dogs and cats are allowed, assuming they’re friendly and well-trained.
  • ... Just to name a few
